vote to move article/change name spelling
[edit]I move to change the English spelling of his name to reflect standard transliteration, which would be Hassan al-Hudaybi. We can leave the current Hodeiby (which is maybe the most common EGYPTIAN transliteration, but far from the only one) in parenthesis. It's much easier to keep track of names transliterated from other alphabets when they use a standard system. And more importantly, it's easier to SEARCH for them; many people looking this guy up would never find him based on this spelling.
By the way, I think the article is a pretty good start, and I hope to contribute significantly to it.jackbrown (talk) 17:10, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
I removed most of the errors based on the apparent mixup with his son; the only one I've left is the claim that he became head of the appeals court in the 1960s--I seem to recall that he resigned from the judiciary (and a posting in Alexandria) when he replaced al-Banna in 1949. Anyway, future editors: watch out for mixups with his son Ma'mun, who also headed the Brothers, and died in 2004!jackbrown (talk) 17:27, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
