Awapuhi?

[edit]

I have a face wash which contains Awapuhi extract in it, and they list of ingredients says that it's Hedychium coronarium, but Awapuhi redirects to Zingiber zerumbet. Corvus cornixtalk 21:32, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the 1st I have read that African Slaves were allowed to pack a bag of necessities before being taken from their home and country. "In Brazil it is very common and considered to be an invasive weed. It was introduced in the era of slavery, brought to the country by African slaves who used its leaves as mattresses. It is also considered an invasive species in Hawaii." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.9.18.149 (talk) 21:45, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
