The article says that both of Herbert's parents were German-speaking Jews, but on 16 November 1845, seven days before marrying, his father converted from Judaism to Lutheranism. But it doesn't say anything about whether Herbert's mother Ida also converted from Judaism to Lutheranism (or some other form of Christianity). Does anyone know about this?
