Vandalism

[edit]

I have reverted an edit twice now. The user is continuing to edit the name of the mascot to "Humping Hippos". What further step is needed to block the IP address from making future edits? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! Meatsgains (talk) 04:37, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AP Class Update

[edit]

I just wanted anyone visiting this page to know that there will be some major edits happening in the next week. Hesperia High School's senior AP English class is updating this page to improve the depth and breadth of information provided. --Smithteacher (talk) 18:38, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Students, if you need to add anything to the info box on the side, please see this guide for the markup language: wiki/Template:Infobox_school --Smithteacher (talk) 00:45, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It is proposed that this article be deleted because of the following concern:

[edit]

"WP:GNG is my main concern. This is a high school, not a university, so in order to have notability, there needs to be reliable sources to justify its inclusion into the encyclopedia. The only way that I see that could justify its inclusion would be an endorsement of the famous alumni, but it appears that this theory is not true. So I'd like to respectfully propose its deletion. Thank you."

To whom it may concern: this Wikipedia page is being updated by AP students at the high school. All information that has been included is correct. As their teacher, I am the one who started this project to give back to our local community and better the Wikipedia universe. No, this is not a college; however, I am not sure why that's important. There are many high schools already on Wikipedia. If the lack of citation is important, please help direct my students as to how they can improve their citations. I did link to a Wikipedia page on how to cite; however, I see they have not done this. As far as famous alumni, Marcel Reece currently plays for the Oakland Raiders and teaches a summer football camp at our school. I believe this does qualify us as worthy of inclusion into the free, community-driven encyclopedia that is Wikipedia. Reece's younger brothers are also in our district currently. Thank you for not deleting all of the incredibly hard work the students are putting into this article. Again, if citations need to be included, please help direct us how to do this properly and not throw the baby out with the bath water to be cliche. --Smithteacher (talk) 03:49, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Shakespeare High"

[edit]

I am a student who attends Hesperia High School and I am a student in the AP English class mentioned before. I will add information about our school being featured in a documentary called "Shakespeare High" about our participation in the Shakespearean Festival. I will cite an article published on The New York Times website about this documentary. Our school is mentioned specifically and a picture of former graduates of our school is in the article. Graduation Requirements

[edit]

I am a student from Hesperia High School and I am a student in the AP English class mentioned above. I am adding this information to the page so those who go onto the page will see what is required from a student who attends the High School to graduate from it. I had some initial errors when I was initially putting up the information. This lead to various quick edits to the section to add more clarity and cleanliness to the section. It was not any suspicious actions, just some errors I made by not proofreading the section I was about to post. Nickalos N (talk) 06:06, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Updates

[edit]

Hello, I'd like to add some updates for Hesperia High School's demographics. The demographics I have found for the school's student diversity is based off the 2020-2021, 2019-2020, and 2018-2019 academic school years. This includes the information:

90.1% of the students are minorities.

9.9% White

78.8% Hispanic

8.5% Black

1.4% Asian

0.8% Two or More Races

0.3% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander

0.2% American Indian/Alaska Native

The current article also states Hesperia High School is one of three schools in the Hesperia Unified School District when there are currently seven.

I'd also like to add to Hesperia High School's CIF achievements and add their 2022 boys golf CIF Championship.
