It's a single

[edit]
  • MTV: "The first single "Holy Grail" ft. Justin Timberlake premiered via radio earlier today" (posted July 4) - states 1. it is a single and 2. it was sent to radio July 4 - [1]
  • XXL magazine: "catch the first single of the project, "Holy Grail," featuring Justin Timberlake" - [2]
  • Complex: "...hear the first single. It's called "Holy Grail," and it features Justin Timberlake." - [3]

I can find more sources if you want. To me it's pretty obvious... 2Flows (talk) 21:44, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MTV doesn't state it was sent to radio, it premiered on a radio station (most songs do). Many places have called it the single, but it hasn't been released. — Status (talk · contribs) 21:48, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Premiered and sent to a radio are two different things. If it was sent why can't you provide an Allaccess or R&R source for it? Obviously we are lacking a [real] release source for radio (as I mentioned above Allaccess, R&R) or a separate digital download from iTunes, Amazon or 7 Digital. Until that is provided, it's just a song. — Tomíca(T2ME) 21:51, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Many undisputable reliable sources call it a single. Maybe a future single due to AllAccess and FMQB not listing it yet, but a single non the less. A song does not peak at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 without a radio release. And look at that, Amazon does list it as a seperate download. STATic message me! 22:03, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is this a single too then? You can download any song individually. But it's a part of the album; "from the album". — Status (talk · contribs) 22:58, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But do not all those sources call it the first single? So does that not make it the upcoming first single? Then it should still have Infobox single rather than Infobox song. Unless someone missed it on AllAccess, because I know it was not on FMQB. It is probably just inevitable for a official radio release to occur. We should just not have a release date until there is one. STATic message me! 23:31, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've known of the sources calling it a single since the song came out. I frequently check mentioned websites for radio dates all the time. I wouldn't oppose to using the single infobox, but having July 4th as the date is wrong, as it wasn't released yet. (What are they even waiting for?) — Status (talk · contribs) 00:17, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
"yet to be released (or sent to radio)" thus needs to be infobox song until OWN download sales date (thus not just an album track) or sourced official sent to radio date.—Iknow23 (talk) 05:34, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is still going to be the first single according to the reliable sources (which there are many many more of). It can not receive its own download date, because no singles were released prior to the albums release. A radio release is imminent so we do not need to flip flop back and forth. STATic message me! 05:41, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
A consensus to engage in WP:CRYSTAL? ... unless provide source on the article page for "A radio release is imminent". If cannot provide source just wait a bit until there is one (since it is imminent).—Iknow23 (talk) 05:46, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So why does the article LEAD state "It serves as the opening track of the album" and not "It serves as the first single from the album"...because it hasn't happened yet. SOURCES must be provided in the article itself, "Cite your sources: Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page)." as reader's cannot be forced to read ALL TALK pages for hidden material.—Iknow23 (talk) 05:52, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is not crystal balling if reliable sources universally call it the first single. On top of the other ones, Fuse. So now at least four reliable sources that call it the (first) single, and no other songs were ever referred to as a single. Also the lead was changed when the content was first added, but at the end of the discussion only the infobox was changed back. I will go ahead and add the sources now. Thank you for adding sources to the article per WP:Burden.—Iknow23 (talk) 06:22, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cover

[edit]

Lol. Why no cover? TBWarrior720 (talk) 05:37, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, there is no official cover art for the single. 2Flows (talk) 13:44, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
