Despite common usage of the word "detonation" for engine knock, neither knock nor HCCI are true detonation processes. The wikipedia Engine_knocking description propagates this incorrect terminology and should also be updated.--128.115.101.190 17:16, 1 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the fuel economy advantage?

Substantial in fact...

The future of detonation

[edit]
This section can still be found on the old Wiki page (August 26, 2009) The future of detonation or on the PhotoDetonation webpage.

A reader has made a comment in 2005 about the questionable nature of HCCI, and it has not been followed up. Without the section about the « future of detonation», the HCCI page does not meet the WIKI standard, being confuse about detonation, incomplete in HCCI achievement, and leading to an unclear optimism. After over 40 years of necessary effort, no recent papers are very optimistic about HCCI with piston engine, but at idle. Please share your technical argument which may lead to a different conclusion of the future, otherwise, let the reader inform where HCCI is heading... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.92.22.159 (talk) 12:15, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think this section should be removed completely - this article is about combustion, not detonation. --Benjamin Henry (talk) 00:52, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seems that the new Mazda 3 implements this

[edit]

Perhaps the article needs an update.192.41.81.68 (talk) 18:24, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Further reading has been converted to an ad?

[edit]

It seems like "further reading" has been edited to advertise one particular company (all links added by user 91.85.124.157). I'm removing them, and adding a link to Sandia CRF instead, to avoid commercial interests. 85.235.1.129 (talk) 15:26, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
