How many HCS's were awarded?

[edit]

The lead says 27, but there are 28 recipients on the list. Which one is correct? Farawayman (talk) 16:39, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Errors!

[edit]

I suspect that the entry for #012 Peter John Stannard: SA Army Lieutenant 1 Reconnaissance Regiment: 28 January 1981 is incorrect and that it was in fact Maj Peter John Stannard: SAAF: 1 September 1979. See [[1]]. It further makes sense, because the article concerned states that Cornelius Noël Breytenbach and Stannard received their citations for the same operation - hence the sequential medal number! Any ideas or references? Farawayman (talk) 22:06, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My previous comment is incorrect - confirmed that Medal 012 was in fact awarded to PJ Stannard of 1RR. Farawayman (talk) 18:43, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
RJ Stannard, actually. PJ (Crow) Stannard was awarded the HC. -- André Kritzinger (talk) 18:55, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
