Not a town

[edit]

Houghton is not a town. It was a township of Norfolk, back when Norfolk county used to be divided into townships, instead of being a single-tier municipality. --thirty-seven 05:00, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated the page to reflect this. --thirty-seven 18:34, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is a very small hamlet called Houghton Centre in Houghton Township, at the intersection of Hwy 28 (3rd Concession Road ENR) and the Lakeshore Road. It certainly does not need its own article. I mention it here to prevent any future confusion, because it is marked on some maps as "Houghton", but it is definitely called "Houghton Centre". --thirty-seven 06:29, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
