Page refs
[edit]Thanks for putting up this great page. Can you add page references after the block quotes, like (Allen, p. 24)? I think that's all you need. Also, don't you need to add the name Reginald Allen to the reference? Or is it a different reference. For Reginald Allen, you can use:
- Allen, Reginald (1975). The First Night Gilbert and Sullivan. London: Chappell & Co. Ltd.
(Although since you have the earlier version, it appears, you would change the year ref.) -- Ssilvers 01:47, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Apologies - my wits were woolgathering. Done and done. --AlbertHerring 01:56, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- This is a fun page. A bit cruel, perhaps, but it's a queer world (to combine some reasonably relevant but unrelated quotes). But I rated it a "start" page, instead of a B-class page because it doesn't have much detail about his non-G&S experience, and I did a google search but didn't come up with much. So, unless someone wants to do some real library research on this guy, I thing it'll have to stay a "start". I also looked at the Everard page and made some copy edits. A sad story, and good reading! -- Ssilvers 01:59, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
English?
[edit]Don't mean to quibble, as I know nothing of the subject, but an Irish born Englishman with Brennan for a surname? Surely he's just Irish --KaptKos 09:58, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. I made the change. -- Ssilvers 12:54, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
