徽剧 and 徽戏

[edit]

Proposal to Rename Article to 'Anhui Opera'

[edit]

The term "Anhui Opera" is a more precise and regionally accurate name for this traditional Chinese opera form. Huizhou, which is often associated with "Hui Opera" or "Huizhou Opera," is a historical region in southern Anhui Province and the birthplace of this opera style. By using "Anhui Opera," we clearly indicate its geographical and cultural origins, avoiding confusion with other regional operas. This terminology was also endorsed in academic research, including my master's thesis supervised by experts in the field. Yvonne615 (talk) 09:02, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
