POV[edit]

"officials asked them to translate their lyrics from Mongolian into Chinese, and then banned some of them."

  • Here it cites an unneutral webcite. In Inner Mongolia, citizens are allowed to publish their work in Mongolian language, but it should be written in Mongolian script and central dialect, not in Russian script and Khalkha dialect. --虞海 (Yú Hǎi) (talk) 14:11, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is a well documented fact that public performances in China are systematically censored. What happened to Hurd is just one example of that, and not surprising at all. --Latebird (talk) 18:08, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Chinese law allows Mongols use Mongolian language and Mongolian script, and I've met a Barga Mongol who cannot speak Chinese fluently. The article mixed the concept of "Mongolian as a foreign language" (which is written in a script that Mongols in China cannot read and spoken in a dialect for Khalkha only [in China, Mongols other than Khalkha do not use that dialect, Dolon Nur dialect is treated as "standard". ]) and "minority national language Mongolian". --虞海 (Yú Hǎi) (talk) 07:00, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Since Hurd performed in Mongolian language, I don't quite understand what your point is. The source simply says that the authorities wanted their lyrics to be translated to Chinese for review, so that's what we'll report. If you are unable to present sources that contradict this statement, then your POV marker is unjustified.
Btw.: The band's name in Chinese language is entirely irrelevant to this article. Please do not add it again. They have played in Japan, Germany, and many other places, and we won't add those languages either. --Latebird (talk) 20:18, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
