New photos available of the SACCS Data Transmission Subsystem

[edit]

I can provide a few photos of the SACCS/DTS portion of this 465L system (We called it the ITT Stored Program Element (SPE)). I worked on the system for a year, and assisted in decommissioning it in favor of the "new" (in 1987) IBM Series/1 system that may be still in use. I don't know whether any of this information is of use; I came here looking for a bit of nostalgia.

The photos I took were of the decommissioned system that was for a short time in the SAC Museum at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, shortly after decommission.

I'm not sure how to add them, or even if any of the info I can offer would be of use. If you read this, please get back to me if there's interest. Toobigwords (talk) 21:41, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
