First Motown protest song?

[edit]

This article states that “I should be proud”, released February 1970, was Motown’s first protest song. Some sources regard the Supremes’ “Love Child (song)”, released in September 1968, as a protest song, or a “sort-of protest” song. Such as: [1], and [2], and [3].
