Stomach hemmorhage
[edit]How did he get the stomach hemomorhage that killed him? Was it from drinking alcohol? Thanks in advance to anybody that knows. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.155.51 (talk) 13:47, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
"Viewing notes" inside the two box sets of The Lotus Eaters mention a drink problem. 217.42.197.250 (talk) 00:38, 30 June 2012 (UTC) In what may be taken as an illustration of the extremity involved, the booklet writer Dave Rice, relates two incidents. In one Hendry declines an important rehearsal until series creator Michael Bird threatens him with a shotgun. In the second Ian Hendry is said to have been exhibiting withdrawal symptoms while filming a scene involving dangerous mountain roads! Episode director Viktors Ritelis: "Front wheels spun dangerously on the very edge of the precipice. A mad race to the car followed. Ian was foaming at the mouth, his body racked by convulsions. He was having a fit. It had been his abstinence that morning that had taken him to this point." 217.42.192.76 (talk) 09:07, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
The page is obviously being strictly monitored by one editor to remove any mention of Hendry's well-known problems with alcohol. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.96.97.35 (talk) 22:39, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
Mention to Ian's problem with alcohol added to article. The assertion that 'this page is obviously being strictly monitored by one editor to remove any mention of Hendry's well-known problems with alcohol' is incorrect. To see what the page looked like prior to my involvement/ contributions see the Revision as of 06:42, 7 March 2013. At that stage this page was very 'thin' on detail with regard to his professional and personal life and made no mention of drink problems. The page has been added to and expanded since then. Further discussion/ comments on how to further improve this page are welcome. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neilh1uk (talk • contribs)
1st wife
[edit]For some reason, his first wife is named only as 'Joanna', no surname. In the infobox, this name links-thru to the history of the name Joanna, which is obviously an error. Valetude (talk) 12:55, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
1st marriage entry corrected. Ian Hendry's first wife was Phyllis J. Bell. The marriage was held at Kensington, London in September 1955. Phyllis was known by her middle name, Joanna, rather than her first name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neilh1uk (talk • contribs) 11:23, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
