Removing tag questioning notability

[edit]

I am removing the tag questioning the notability of Dr Shelton. In response to the edit summary of Feb.6 asking "Discovering a supernova makes one notable?", I would answer that Ian Shelton did not discover just "a supernova" of which several are observed by telescope each year; he discovered and identified the first supernova visible with the naked eye since Kepler's supernova since 1604. I can remember reading books questioning if there would be ever another visible supernova, and if Kepler (and Tycho Brahe) had perhaps made some mistake. It was Ian Shelton who disproved that idea.

It is true that the article is too short and lacks information. However since Feb.6, the text has grown from 2 lines to 13 lines, plus two external links as secondary sources. Dirac66 (talk) 03:10, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
