100% Colloquial?

[edit]

I normally don't like putting fact tags on colloquial items, but this article seems to need a heavy dose of them. People (and possibly by extension, towns) call it IL 161 all the way to Indiana?

If this is in fact entirely colloquial and not even a hint official, it should be mentioned as such and the fact tags dropped. —Rob (talk) 12:38, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

West terminus

[edit]

I am not sure the west terminus is actually at IL 157, as the article states. The last Illinois map I own (from 2005-6), shows the black line for IL 161 ending just east of IL 157. Furthermore, when I went to St. Louis in 2006, I distinctly remember a "TO" 161 sign at the exit ramp for the road which leads to 161. I'm not sure if that is still the same or how to document it exactly, but I'm not sure that is correct as the article states. DandyDan2007 (talk) 04:21, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, this page appears to show IL 161 ending at St. Clair Avenue, which is not IL 157. Very strange. I'll confirm it with GIS later today. —Rob (talk) 12:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, GIS shows a different story, with IL 161 turning west onto St. Clair Avenue to IL 157. Most likely, they've just signed it wrong, or the change occurred recently (circa 2007). —Rob (talk) 18:29, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
