eluvial process also occurs in horizontal direction[edit]

Removed: "is happening in basically vertical direction, as compared to the horizontal transfer of alluviation." I am personally familiar with a well developed (loamy A horizon, clayey B horizon) sloping soil where subsurface flow along the top of the B horizon has resulted in eluvial soil morphology. While one could argue that eventually those materials are carried deeper by gravity, I think it is important not to discount the opportunity for substantial horizontal transport. -- Paleorthid 17:32, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The text says "in basically vertical direction", i.e., does not exclude some horisontal movement. Of course, it is not mathematical geometry, like. exactly 90 degrees angle.
