When war is manufactured[edit]

hi when was the last IL18 air craft manufactured?

Not sure, but the article says that they were manufactured for 12 years. Production began in 1957~1958 so that would mean that the last aircraft was produced around 1970.Ratsbew (talk) 14:07, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

IMO, the following do not make sense; from the first and the second sections: "The Ilyushin Il-18 (Russian: Илью́шин Ил-18; NATO reporting name: Coot) is a large turboprop airliner..."

"The first Il-18 was a propeller-driven airliner of 1946 but after a year of test flights that programme was abandoned."

A "turboprob airliner" IS a "propeller-driven" (sic) aircraft. I presume that "propeller-driven" ought to read "piston-engined" - as written at the start of the third paragraph in the second section? But I don't know enough to correct this myself. Anyone? --CatNip48 (talk) 08:41, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cruise Speed Mach?[edit]

The data at the bottom says that the aircraft can cruise as high as .86 mach with a maximum operating speed of .88 mach, surely this is incorrect.Ratsbew (talk) 14:07, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I Messed Up[edit]

Sorry, I did not intend to vandalize - i'm trying to put in a reference concerning the Il-18 being used in the middle east: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/il-18.htm.

I apologize for messing up the article. Algaean (talk) 15:53, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Allegations of industrial espionnage?[edit]

Why are these missing? After all, every single Soviet aircraft is known to be a rip-off from Western technology, see Tu-144 and Il-62, and this aircraft looks a lot like a Bristol Britannia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.126.84.174 (talk) 21:59, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

IL-20[edit]

Various links (both within wikipedia, and from Google) point you to this article and a #Military section for info.

This is broken. Please fix. CapnZapp (talk) 06:29, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
