Antigen ?

[edit]

Arent other antigens used aswell besides vaccins

Plenty of citations and references by now?

[edit]

Enough I believe to remove the notice on the page that more are required. I have added many, many references and see no major claims that remain unreferenced. Unless I read a countervailing argument here I will remove the notice FQ1513 (talk) 20:28, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Immunotherapy is about more then just cancer

[edit]

Are not all vaccines about immunizing the the body against some form of harmful organism? This article is about a huge subject of which cancer is but one subset. Also,I added a wiki and outside reference to Dr Coley's toxins Bgordski (talk) 19:52, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

CAR T Cells

[edit]

I think they should be mentioned in this section: 1.1.2.1 Genetically engineered T cells

Dr June's lab published an article in the NEJM on a case from a small scale pilot study using CAR (anti-CD19) T Cells in a refractory CLL patient.[1] More results from this study resulting in important anti-tumoral activity in 3/3 patients and complete remission in 2/3 patients sustained 10 months after the study (at the time when the article was published): [2] If anyone wants to edit the article, feel free. Will try to do it when I have a little more time. Ulalume (talk) 19:53, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging Immunomodulation therapy into this article

[edit]

(copied from Talk:Immunomodulation_therapy#Merge_with_Immunotherapy:)
Article immunotherapy seems to be about the same topic and more complete. 88.217.104.130 (talk) 02:08, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result of this discussion was to merge as proposed. Scray (talk) 05:31, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As the editor suggests, propose merger of Immunomodulation therapy into Immunotherapy because the concepts have near-complete overlap. Immunotherapy is more developed, and the latter term is also at least as commonly-used. -- Scray (talk) 05:26, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's been a month and, as nom, I plan to proceed with merger. While this has not been a robust discussion, it also seems noncontroversial. -- Scray (talk) 05:19, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing table

[edit]

The table entitled "Approaches to therapeutic tolerance induction" in this section is rather poorly formatted and quite confusing. I am not even quite sure what it is trying to convey. At minimum, I think that:

  • the leftmost column should be removed;
  • the values in the leftmost column should be made colspan="3".
