Context

[edit]

I've removed the tag saying the article provides insufficient context for unfamiliar readers. Without the article becoming a general sailing article, there is almost no way to discuss the class in such a way as to be accessible by someone completely unfamiliar with sailing. Links to relevant articles within the article should provide context as necessary. Madness 20:44, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trapeze experiment

[edit]

I think I remember that Peter West was the man on the trapeze (sailing), and that ironically he was invited to draft the rule banning its use. (Source: his autobiography? or a history of the International 14?) Can anyone confirm this? GilesW 16:48, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unusual

[edit]

"I14 sailors often give their boats unusual names. Knee Trembler and Shocker are two examples, but more abound." Is this worth mentioning? Having seen the names of many boats, I'd say they all tend to be unusual. Unfree (talk) 09:37, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
