Species versus variety

[edit]

The article was written for a particular variety,[1] which is just found in Texas. Now that it was renamed to the species name, some of the assertions are no longer true (the species[2] is found in many areas of the southern US, for example). This is partly my fault - I didn't take the time to figure out how to put the variety into the taxobox, so I just didn't bother.

Either we could just take an axe to everything which isn't sourced (which is pretty much the whole article except the ranges and a little bit about the names), or we could rename the article to the variety name. Or I guess we could put the unsourced information into a section about the Texas variety, although I don't really know what applies to the whole species and what applies just to that variety. I've moved the Texas variety into its own section. Kingdon 01:45, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
