Page move

[edit]

I temporarily moved the page ATL 2701 to Irving Whale (nautical disaster). Eventually it should be simply Irving Whale. My reason for changing it is that the barge which is part of a fleet of JDI barges, is now known as the Atlantic Sea Lion, after it was renamed by JDI in 2009. It had been renamed ATL 2701 from 2001-2009, following its 1966 refloating and refitting after the 1970 nautical disaster. The barge itself is not notable. If the Irving Whale had not sunk with its large cargo of oil and PCBs in rich fishing grounds near PEI, and if the recovery had not had such a long and complicated history, the barge itself would not merit an freestanding Wikipedia article.

I would appreciate help in moving this article to Irving Whale. Perhaps it is the redirect that disallows this at present?Oceanflynn (talk) 19:04, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, it'll be the redirect. I've marked the redirect for deletion so the article can be moved for you - RichT|C|E-Mail 19:18, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
