'The Deer Park' ?

[edit]

Doesn't the name mean "the animal park"? A native Danish speaker attests that "dyr" means just "animal" in general, as in da:Dyrepark for "zoo". --89.233.1.75 (talk) 08:08, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dyr means both animal and deer specifically. When used in old composite words it usually refers to deer, though it is ambigious and depends on the region where the name or word was composited. In this case we know the origin of the Dyrehaven from historical sources and can disambiguate it. Carewolf (talk) 11:39, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Theater

[edit]

According to the section "Ulvedalene", the last theatre production was in 2006. According to the section "Open air theatre", The Royal Danish Theatre produces an annual theatre production at Ulvedalene in Jægersborg Dyrehave. Which, if either, is correct?--Klausok (talk) 12:39, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
