[edit]Sounds like there is a much more interesting story here than what's being told. Lose the weasel words, summarize some of his more publicly contested rulings, and give us some background on his new career as a columnist. I figure that an editor from the UK will do better than I will. Irene Ringworm 18:25, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
I can confirm he was a pretty notorious character during the 80s, at least. He was famous not just for his sexist and racist views, but also for being out of touch with popular culture, asking questions like "what is a 'Gazza'" (about the footballer Paul Gascoine) and assuming a "topless model" was a model missing the upper portion of her anatomy.
He was the subject of a World in Action report called "Pray Silence for Judge Pickles" http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/title/402647 and an early Ali G interview.
- Seems to me you're repeating a lot of second hand knowledge. He was notorious, but not quite the right wing loony you try to make out him to be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.145.40.130 (talk) 17:01, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
