Hi, can any body give me detailed history of the migration of Maithils from Bihar to east and central U.P. and the reason of why they quit eating meat. I have always know that there are 2 branches of maithil brahmins Shakt who worship Shakti or mother Goddess and eat meat and Vaishnav who also worship mother Goddess as their "Isht" but they have quit eating meat.
