"Excessive detail"?

There's no such thing as too much information! And besides, being the last survivor of a year and the oldest person to die in a year are two very important achievements. Other supercentenarians, such as Kama Chinen and Chiyono Hasegawa, also have that mentioned on their articles. SuperHero2111 (talk) 06:16, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

"are two very important achievements". Says who? DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 06:17, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Same with Besse Cooper. SuperHero2111 (talk) 06:18, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

I say so. I am actually against the very concept of "notability" in Wikipedia. So what if the subject is not notable? There's no reason why Wikipedia cannot cover information on everything. As long as the information is accurate and good quality, there's no reason why anything should be excluded due to 'notability'. No matter how unnotable a topic is, there will always be readers who will be searching Wikipedia for information about it. And I don't see any reason why we should exclude those topics, just because they aren't 'notable' enough to most people. SuperHero2111 (talk) 06:26, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
Unless there is a Reliable Source (and GRG does not count) which says that these details are "important" then they do not belong in wikipedia. Wiki is not a fan page, messageboard or forum. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 20:39, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

Infobox needs a little cleaning...

In the "known for" section of the infobox for Kimura-san's article, there are two points which are no longer valid; so I recommend removing them:

  • Verified oldest living man - no longer living; Kimura-san died on June 12, 2013
  • Verified oldest living person - "person" could imply either male or female; Jeanne Calment was the oldest person

He was notable in part for achieving both those titles. Therefore they should stay. He no longer holds the titles as he is dead, but isn't that rather obvious? 20:48, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

What kind of postal work?

Did he deliver letters by bicycle? Or sit in the office whole day? ee1518 (talk) 11:24, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
