Merge proposal
[edit]The articles Joanna Gaines and Chip Gaines are very similar to each other, with large sections matching word-for-word (and lots of those seem to be copied from Fixer Upper (TV series), but I think some of the sections there are not actually relevant to the show). Most of their ventures and most of the coverage of them seems to cover both of them instead of only one. Therefore, I propose merging these two articles to Chip and Joanna Gaines (currently a redirect). RunningTiger123 (talk) 03:19, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
- Chip and Joanna share many ventures but separately they are massively bestselling authors and influencers, and outside of Fixer Upper they are doing more separate business. I think it makes sense for each of these hugely famous people to have their own page. Good note, though, that some of the info originated on the Fixer Upper pages and no longer makes sense there - I have made edits to the Fixer Upper page to streamline this. - Are they really doing that much business separately? I'm not denying that some of their work is separate, but most of it seems to be together, especially their core Magnolia ventures. (As a comparison, see the Wachowskis, Russo brothers, Farrelly brothers, etc. – there have been some projects where only one of the two is involved, but they generally have worked together.) Even this article, which is generally about Joanna only, makes it clear in the first sentence that this is not typical:
When you see the name Joanna Gaines, it's often alongside Chip Gaines, her husband and co-owner and co-founder of Magnolia.
- Perhaps to put it another way: You could combine the two current articles and the only sections that would really have to changes are the early life portions of their personal life sections and the bibliography, which are relatively small. RunningTiger123 (talk) 19:26, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

- Interesting proposal but I agree with @Sneakers2929Sneakers2929 that Chip and Joanna each have enough significantly separate ventures to warrant separate articles (such as Joanna's hugely-popular books Homebody and the Magnolia Table series). Crunchydillpickle🥒 (talk) 01:24, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
this article is woke cringe
[edit]Look at this awful picture of Joanna and the "criticism" that she doesn't support LGBT stuff.
What a sad joke, emblematic of the entire site :( 71.69.210.174 (talk) 12:58, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- It is a very subjective piece that should be removed. It gives the appearance it was added due to a personal agenda 98.217.161.235 (talk) 17:24, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
Un necessary negative content
[edit]The creator has a negative view of her religious and political views. They are only controversial because you don't agree with them. You are petty and obviously leftist extremist. 47.186.97.195 (talk) 01:44, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
