Two names of the same book?

[edit]

Almost, but not quite certain that his book "A Mathematician Plays the Stock Market" was also published as "A Mathematician Plays the Market". If so, that should be included in the article, but so far I haven't been able to find any way to prove in on the Web. There are definitely books with both titles from the same author, and published around the same time... Enough of a time gap that the one without "Stock" might be a paperback version, or perhaps a British version. (I have here a copy of the one with "Stock", and it is hardbound and apparently published by a New York City publisher. I'm pretty sure I can get a look at a copy of the other title in a few days.) I noticed that the article includes a quote from the version without "Stock", and that quote does appear in the copy I have here... Seems to be pretty strong evidence they are the same book. Shanen (talk) 01:35, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The author sent me email that the version without "Stock" is the British edition. I added that as an annotation to the article, even though I regard that as excessive support provided to the spammer-friendly Wikipedia. Please feel free to fix it properly with the ISBN and all, but I obviously have highly mixed feelings about supporting or even using Wikipedia these years. Anything the spammers like and use as part of their infrastructure can't be trusted, and all I know about the problem is that the Wikipedia censors reports of spammer abuse.
