Existance?
[edit]This article--and for that matter, virtually all other online information regarding Wolgamot--has only Ashley & Waldrop's words to confirm the existence of this poet and his works. No images of him exist. No images of the original physical book have surfaced. There's mentions of copies of the book being sent to Mencken, but there don't seem to be any records of that exchange either.
What I'm saying is that it's possible that "John Barton Wolgamot" could be a "Marvian Pontiac": a fictitious character created by an artist to act as fictitious provenance.
However, the books to seem to be present within the Pratt library catalog, and there is a gravestone for a "John B. Wolgamot" that seems to line up with the events Ashley & Waldrop describe (https://billiongraves.com/grave/John-B-Wolgamot/4268995).
Regardless, it'd be best to try and expand the article with more sources besides Ashley & Waldrop.
