Notability

[edit]

The threshhold of notability for local politicians may not be a very clear one. However this article quotes the official Coventry City Council website (surely a reliable source) that he is a former Lord Mayor and current Labour group leader (a fairly important post) in Coventry, roughly the 10th largest city in the UK. I would say this makes him notable. PatGallacher 13:39, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lord Mayorship (or Lord Provostship) of a town or a city in England and Wales, in Scotland and in Northern Ireland does not give notability except for that of the City and Corporation of London (and those of Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff, York and Glasgow (See [1].)), bearing in mind that the office of the Lord Mayor (or of the Lord Provost) is a yearly strictly ceremonial and honorary post for senior Councillors, and nothing more. -- Urquhartnite (talk) 10:23, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
