More work needed
[edit]I worked on this yesterday in a library and don't know when I'll be able to again. This morning I can't access the resources and have other obligations today and this weekend, even if the digital harassment lessens. The McCray book, which I only skimmed and is not available for checkout, indicates some of the bad p.r. arose because Jones acknowledged his paternity of her grandmother decades after the war. Unfortunately, the regimental history volume concerning the 33rd is one of the weaker ones of the series, without index and the statement that Jones' brigade and one of General Winder attacked at Antietam is just plain wrong--Gen. Charles S. Winder had been associated with the Stonewall Brigade, but died at the Battle of Cedar Mountain the previous month, and Gen. John Winder was a prison commander in Richmond.Jweaver28 (talk) 11:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
