Thin Man

This article says that Joseph Hirschfelder was involved in the work on the "Thin Man" design for an atomic bomb using Pu-239. This work established that such a bomb would not work. The actual "Thin Man"-type bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan used U-235, not Pu-239.

It may or may not be true that Hirschfelder worked on the U-235 Thin Man design after the Pu-239 Thin Man project was ended. I do not know. But I think someone who does know should add this information.

Hirschfelder worked on the Thin Man (nuclear bomb), which used plutonium. Please read the article on it. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima was a Little Boy type, which used highly enriched uranium. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 03:40, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
