Thin Man
[edit]This article says that Joseph Hirschfelder was involved in the work on the "Thin Man" design for an atomic bomb using Pu-239. This work established that such a bomb would not work. The actual "Thin Man"-type bomb which was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan used U-235, not Pu-239.
It may or may not be true that Hirschfelder worked on the U-235 Thin Man design after the Pu-239 Thin Man project was ended. I do not know. But I think someone who does know should add this information.
- Hirschfelder worked on the Thin Man (nuclear bomb), which used plutonium. Please read the article on it. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima was a Little Boy type, which used highly enriched uranium. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 03:40, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
