Talk:Joy Boys

There is an earlier show with the same name: "The Joy Boys." Some mention of it should be included in this article. This problem is noted at the bottom of this page, which cites a reference by Rex Stout in 1934. Akurn (talk) 22:17, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The reference by Rex Stout is probably a reference to a band by that name, not a radio show. In the book "Stout Fellow: A Guide Through Nero Wolfe's World" by O. McBride, page 17, the comment is made that "Wolfe likes the Joy Boys which Archie thinks is pretty damn vulgar and he prefers the band at the Hotel Portland's Surf Room." The same article referenced above re Rex Stout's mention of "The Joy Boys" also mentions a few bands using the name. Would a disambig page be appropriate? Tfore (talk) 13:11, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Joy Boys a redux?

[edit]

In the Rex Stout novel “Fer-de-Lance”, published in 1934, the main character listens to the Joys Boys on the radio at dinner.

Could this version be based on that? If so, are ther any details on the original? 220.151.235.138 (talk) 23:52, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
