Original Just Dance
Anyone have any information as to why the original male verse in the song was sung by Akon, and then changed for the radio and album release? I've always wondered why this happened because, no offense to Colby, but Akon singing the same verse does a MUCH better job.

Lyrics
I don't know how such a biased and conservative analysis of the lyrics were included in this article but bias has no place here and it should not be there, I am removing the analysis as it isn't only biased, it isn't necessary in this article. Eric, San Francisco 12-10-08 10:56 PM

Is there any confirmation on this? Either way, I think we should stick with the US cover for two reasons: 1. It's the original 2. The other one looks better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.153.174.45 (talk) 00:28, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

I know that the song first appeared on those charts in 2008, but we are listing peak positions, and Just Dance reached its peak on those charts in 2009... See Low (Flo Rida song) for an example of what I mean. The song first charted in 2007, but it didn't reach #1 until the 1st week of 2008, so the charts are listed as 2008. 65.94.113.122 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 05:44, 15 January 2009 (UTC).

Arbitrary statistics
When somebody reaches a rank in sales, it has implications for how much money they make, and what current influence they have on culture. However when statistics are used to compare any arbitrary situation, they become trivia. That is why statistics that did not have to do with the song were removed. Any number of comparisons can be drawn: "Singer-songwriters who were number one before and after 'Just Dance'", "Girl singers who were number one before and after", "American girl singers who were number one before and after", "American white girl singers who reached number one simultaneously in the U.S. and the U.K." The comparisons are endless, trivial, and original research. Piano non troppo (talk) 06:37, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Disagree. The article only states the chart replacement of this song by another artist. That doesnot come under your statistical analysis. --Legolas (talktome) 06:39, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Moving forward
I've noticed the article was (more recently) promoted to a "b". After a hefty read through, I've also noticed that this article actually should be moving forward to becoming a potential good article candidate. I'd like to ask (from a wide range of views) that before I do my research, does anyone else notice any significance this song presents? Some good points to include. -- A talk/contribs 04:24, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Agree. But it is better to wait for untill the song comes down all the charts since IPs are continuously editing now and will be a pain if its expanded now. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:44, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

- Pass or Fail:
- I'm not entirely sure what appears as original research in the lead, as most of it is repeated in the main body of the article. I guess I must be missing it, so could you point it out instead? I have, however done some general copy editing. -- A talk/contribs 04:17, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- I've taken a quick look at the article, to me it looks good. Reference #55 needs to be properly formatted, though. CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:33, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
re: "Just Dance" review
Apparently, I was unclear about the lead. I'm saying that 2 in-line citations isn't enough for how long the lead is.--Unionhawk Talk 17:43, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well... there's four in-line citations now. Nothing else is worth citing as it's repeated in the article and likely won't be challenged information. -- A talk/contribs 19:04, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I did not know about that guideline before. If you are ready, let me know.--Unionhawk Talk 19:52, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well, as I've just rid (definate) original research from lead I think we're ready. Thanks to fellow users for pointing out errors. -- A talk/contribs 21:09, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

GA Review fixes
The review has stated that the lead need fixing. So disscus below changes that will improve it within 7 days. Cloverfield Monsta (talk) 03:46, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- The quote ("a happy record which makes one feel good") should have an in-line citation. The intoxicated sentence is not sourced in the article as far as I can see. Done
- To say, "most critics calling it irresistible" is incorrect, you have one reviewer from the BBC stating this. Tone it down a little? "Commended by most reviewers" or something. Done
- Calling it a sleeper hit without a source could be controversial OR - you would have to prove it was 'unexpected'? Done
- "but electronic duo Daft Punk for their song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"." makes no sense - should be "but was beaten by electronic..." Or just remove Daft Punk altogether, the notable part is the Gaga nom, not who it was beaten by. k.i.a.c (talktome - contribs) 06:37, 3 May 2009 (UTC) Done
- Thanks. I've fixed source #55. As for the "irresistable" sentence, I've cut that portion out seeing as it was only one reviewer and didn't fit in the sentence - with that gone, the sentence focuses more on how critics complimented its club anthem-like nature. The "happy record which makes one feel good" has also been cut to "happy record", seeing as that's the only thing the citation says. I've also cited the "intoxicated" and "sleeper hit" commments, though. -- A talk/contribs 10:38, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe change "critics" to "reviewers", just so critic isn't repeated in that sentence. Otherwise, really good job! k.i.a.c (talktome - contribs) 12:06, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Done, and thanks. (: -- A talk/contribs 12:46, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
What key?
The article claims that the song is in the key of C# minor (which I am not necessarily disputing) but then goes on to claim it contains the chords "F---Am---C---G--D-F---Am---C---G--D-F" none of which are in the key of C# Minor. Either that is not the correct key, or those are not the correct chords. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.69.105.223 (talk) 14:00, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, only read this after posting the thing at the bottom. I'm confused by this too. I'm happy to accept that it's in C# minor, but I get the chords as C#m, E, B, F#m and then A and C#m for the pre chorus. The chord progression written in the article isn't the same, and those chords written are in the key of F, not C#m. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alphabetagamma123 (talk • contribs) 23:59, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Chords
I was just wondering if someone else could check out the chords to this piece please? I reckon that they are C#m, E, B and F#m for the verse and chorus and A and C#m for the pre chorus, not the pregression that is written down. I have tried to follow the source link, but that requires downloading software and paying for the music. If I play the chords written down it is obvious they are incorrect though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alphabetagamma123 (talk • contribs) 23:51, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I did the same but you don't even need to play them to realise this. Playing the chord of C in a song in the key of C# Minor will result in some rather painful dischord. I'll remove the reference to the chord progression completely until someone can find a reputable source that proves a believable chord sequence. And you're meant to get what you pay for, IndigoSeptimus (talk) 20:27, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Lady Gaga Meets Rock Band
I've polished the line in the introduction that mentions the inclusion of Just Dance in the Lady Gaga Pack 01 for Rock Band but I'm wondering if there is a more appropriate place in the article to integrate this into? None of the section are particularly obvious, except for Releases but that's only a table. The Lady Gaga Pack 01 isn't likely going to develop into more than a sentence so I'm stumped, I certainly don't think it should permanently reside in the intro. Suggestions? IndigoSeptimus (talk) 22:16, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Just Dance chords
There are four people on this talk page (includng myself) who all agree that the specified chords, which contain an F and C, are contradictory to the agreed key of C# Minor (which is referenced along with these chords in a source that cannot be freely viewed). While we can all also agree that the chords should be C#m, E, B, F#m (or there abouts) none of us have presented a reputable source proving this but we can all agree that the chords of F and C cannot be played in they key of C#. So for the sake of reputability of the article I would suggest that until a reliable source showing both the key and the chords together in a believable state is found, all mention of the song's chord sequence is removed. I'll do it in a couple of days unless anyone objects to this common sense compromise? IndigoSeptimus (talk) 22:24, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
- Actually Musicnotes.com has changed the sheet music and they do reflect the chord structure provided here, so you can make the change. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:54, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Reassesment
I think this article is due for reassesment. (I'm not an reviewer) but, I think it is time to upgrade this article to atleast an A-Class. What do you think? Is there anything that needs to be done before this happens. I've edited part of this article (some, including the genre and the beginning) I just need to know what needs to be done. Sprite7868 (talk) 05:29, 03 April 2010 (UTC)
- The article is in the middle of a GTC nomination, hence let that close. We can definitely move ahead with the A-class later. --Legolas (talk2me) 12:03, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
Background Dancers/Video
I'm sorry but, was "Dina and Pepper" (Gaga's former friends according to some videos on Youtube) actually in the music video. And if so, where is the source to back this up. You can't just add this in an article without a source. I am going to delete this part but, if anyone gets a (reliable) source. I will be happy to add this information back. I would want to edit the total number of digital downloads of "Just Dance". It is stated that it has sold five million paid digital downloads. I would just like to specify that it has sold 5,364,000 copies.

Article inconsistency
According to the "List of Hot 100 number-one singles of 2009 (U.S.)" page, "Just Dance" reached #1 on that chart in the week of Jan. 17, 2009, not Jan. 10. I would assume that that page is correct, and that the succession box on this one needs fixing. -Agur bar Jacé (talk) 20:01, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Vocal range of the song.
I just want to clarify that G3 is lower than C5 in notation. This article mentions that the G3 is the high note she (Lady Gaga) reaches vocally, and that the C5 is the low note, but C5 is a higher note than G3. Therefore, the two should be switched the other way around, meaning, it should read "Gaga's vocal spans from the low note of G3 to the high note of C5." If somebody could please edit this, it would be appreciated. 75.194.94.19 (talk) 01:53, 21 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.194.94.19 (talk) 01:52, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Just Dance → Just Dance (song) – This once was the primary topic for "Just Dance" but no longer is. A Google search for "'just dance' lady gaga" brings in 12.2 million ghits compared to 28.7 million for "'just dance' game". The Just Dance page should become a disambiguation page with the Just Dance (video game) article title remaining the same. –Chase (talk / contribs) 23:01, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
