Insurgency

[edit]

I removed the following paragraph concerning the effects of the Kashmir insurgency on the village. If anyone would like to add sourced info about it they are welcome to use this material as a source, but content should carefully reflect WP:V and WP:NPOV on this controversial topic.

Unfortunatly the residents of this village have suffered many tragidies over the years since 1989 when in Kashmir armed struggle began. An insurgency was started to obtain freedom from the Indian Adminstration. This insurgency had a large impact on the lives of the common people living there, particulary along the border. Many were forced to leave their homes and belongings in order to save their honor and lives. The majority of people who migrated from the village now reside in different refugee camps located in Muzaffarabad. The condition of these camps are very miserable and it has been more than 17 years that many of these people have been residing in the camps.

NPOV

[edit]

There's lots of text in the article with potential NPOV problems. Although I've done a lot of tidying related to geography, I've left the potentially controversial material as-is for the time being, and will rely upon the good faith efforts of WP India and WP Pakistan to knock this into shape to comply with the NPOV policies. -- The Anome (talk) 16:19, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
