Redirecting to Ray Foley § Personal life
[edit]The subject of this article does not appear to be notable. Based on WP:GNG, there is not sufficient significant coverage about the subject in multiple independent reliable sources. For a general biography, the individual has not received a significant award or honor, or made a groundbreaking contribution to their field. The criteria under WP:JOURNALIST are also no satisfied.
As a reporter, Carolan does not inherit any notability from the subject matter that she has reported upon. Being dispatched to report from foreign countries is also not especially remarkable.
The existing citations for the article are:
- Carolan Reed, Kate (1 July 2007). "Elliott Impacts Downtown Resurgence". Greater Lansing Business Monthly. Archived from the original on 26 January 2016. Retrieved 26 November 2008.
- Carolan Reed, Kate (1 July 2007). "Lansing's Gems Revealed". Greater Lansing Business Monthly. Archived from the original on 26 January 2016. Retrieved 26 November 2008.
- "Kate Carolan reports on the withdrawal of Islamist forces from Mogadishu". RTÉ. 28 December 2006. Retrieved 26 November 2008.[dead link]
- "Kate Carolan reports on the opening of the Oxegen festival, being held in Punchestown, Co Kildare". RTÉ. 8 July 2006. Retrieved 26 November 2008. [dead link]
- Kate Carolan. Voice123. Retrieved 26 November 2008.
The first four are her reporting work and do not constitute WP:SIGCOV for establishing notability. Also, while they can support the fact that she was employed by, or contributed reporting to certain media outlets, they cannot be used to infer other facts such as her former place of residence.
The last one is a self-created profile on a site that allows prospective customers to search for voice actors soliciting work. This is not usable as an independent, reliable source.
A search for other possible additional sources, such as news articles, failed to turn up anything useful. After filtering for results that are her reporting work, I was left with five showbiz/entertainment news pieces that are about her husband Ray Foley, where she shows up only as a passing mention: 1 2 3 4 5
Looking at incoming wikilinks: while there are many pages that link to this one, the vast majority appear to be via Template:2fm, with the exception of her husband's article and Carolan (surname).
As an alternative to outright deletion via WP:PROD, redirecting to Ray Foley § Personal life as a related article containing relevant information. Have considered doing a merge to salvage some content, but none of the information about her — DoB, race/nationality, current/former employment, place of residence, and education/qualifications — is supported by proper sourcing, so there isn't anything usable.
