Kavi Kalash (died March 1689 CE, Tulapur) was from Kanauj, U.P. headquarter Kashi, a poet by profession but in reality he was master of Black Magic and Kali Pujak. Hypnotism was one of his best skills. With the help of his Kashi support (Gaga Bhatt) he entered Swaraj and posed as a friend (but worked as spy and manipulator) and a personal advisor to Maratha king Sambhaji Maharaj (reigned 1680-1689). Best position to manipulate anyone (vantage position). He succeeded in taking a position as a Best Loyal friend of Chhtrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He created rifts between him and all his Maratha friends and alienated Sambhaji Maharaj from his community. This made Sambhaji vulnerable and over dependent on Kavi Kalash. After Hambirao Mohite death he was completely dependent on advisor, who was Kavi Kalash.

Kavi Kalash used multiple tactics to create rifts. Like Kavi Kalash used Watan theory to create artificial rift between Sambhaji Maharaj and Ganoji Raje and fueled it.

Ganoji Raje, however did not fall for Kavi Kalash plan and tried to expose Kavi Kalash.

GanojiRaje kept warning Sambhaji Raje against ill intent of Kavi Kalash, but without success. Kavi Kalash continued fueling and fanning the rift, but not much succes.

Once alienated Sambhaji from his community, Kavi Kalash separated Sambhaji Maharaj physically by separating him from his from his shield Raigad and took him to comparatively vulnerable Sardesaiwada of Sangameshwar. He managed to convince Sambhaji Maharaj to extend his stay at Sardesaiwada after rainy season (ref- A History of The Maratha People VOL II The End of Shivaji to The End of Shahu', Oxford University). Kavi Kalash succeeded and Sambhaji got caught by Aurangjeb. Sambhaji found himself in a completely defenceless.

Kavi Kalash was captured, along with Sambhaji Maharaj, by the enemy Mughal army in Sangmeshwar.

Knowing that Kavi Kalash can do anything to protect his Dharma. That means he can also use his Black Magic against Mughals. Aurangjeb played it safe and he also kept Kavi Kalash captive along with Sambhaji and eliminated him through cardinal punishment.

Kavi Kalash was heavily chained to prevent his using "sorcery", and the two high-ranking captives were paraded through the Mughal camp attired as clowns, and tied to camels.[1] -.PAGE 280

About incorrect name.

[edit]

Kavi kulesh was very good friend of chh.sambhaji maharaj. His name is written incorrect on the title, as kavi kalash. It is not kalash. At the age of 18 raje sambhaji met 2nd time kavi kulesh, whereas 1st time was in mathura, he pronounced as kavi kalash. But kavi kulesh corrected raje sambhaji politely that it is kulesh, not kalash.
