Why is this Dance of the Goblins crap on here?

[edit]

so some delusional nutcase goes on Dragon's Den and claims that Kevin has 'expressed interest' in her 'film' (which is only a pipe-dream anyway) and it warrants half the article being used up to promote this Goblin nonsense? Removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drunkenmonkey111 (talkcontribs) 21:39, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll admit to adding that section without logging in last year. I stand by it's inclusion on notability, and didn't add it to promote the Dance of Goblins. But I appreciate that until the rest of the article is extended and improved, it is does overwhelm the article. Stuart.Jamieson (talk) 06:48, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Kevin McNally. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Year and place of birth

[edit]

McNally's date of birth has recently been removed from the Infobox, and from the lead paragraph; there is a "better source needed" note by the source given for "born in Bristol" ("findmypast", for which you must sign up). His IMDB biography has "born on April 27, 1956, in Bristol" (and grew up in Birmingham), but his BFI biography says "Born: 27 April 1955, Birmingham, Warks". Those seem closest to open "reliable sources" that I can find, but Debrett's People of Today 2017, to which I have access via Credo Reference, also says 1956, and seems reliable - details not found elsewhere, such as his parents' names and management details. It does not specify Bristol or Birmingham, however. But since IMDB has the right year, I propose using IMDB as the primary source, Debrett's as a second one for the year, and removing the "better source needed" note. WP:DOB requires a very high level of citing for date of birth and other identifying info, and per WP:CITEIMDB, IMDb is not acceptable. Given that there are discrepancies, I would err on the side of caution and just put 1955 or 1956 (omitting the day, unless Debrett's confirms it), using both of those sources. I'm also going to remove the name of a son per WP:BLPNAME. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 01:29, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
