The darts professional allegedly sexually assaulted a teenager who considered herself his “ number one fan” when he played in a championship tournament at Blackpool 14 years ago, a jury has heard.

Kevin Spiolek, now 51, is said to have performed indecent acts with the girl and asked her if she wanted sex with him.

The girl told only her teenage boyfriend about what she claimed had gone on, but recorded events in a diary and Spiolek was arrested last October, after she showed it to friends, Burnley Crown Court was told.

The hearing was told when the defendant was questioned by police, he denied anything sexual had ever gone on and described the allegations as “a load of garbage,” Spiolek, of Water Lane, Oakington, Cambridge, denies four counts of indecent assault, said to have taken place in July 1999.

She alleged Mr Spiolek then led her to a quiet room where he began to kiss her on the lips, undid her bra, fondled her breasts and asked if she was a virgin. He then asked whether she would like to have sex with him, she claimed. It was further alleged there was a second sexual encounter between the pair at the evening session. She claimed Mr Spiolek asked again whether she wanted to have sex with him.

In October 2014, a retrial returned a verdict for Kevin Spiolek of not guilty due to the jury being unable to come to a majority verdict of guilty, on all charges. The court was left with no option but to return the decision. They did not come to decision of not guilty due to majority vote of the jury but by default. Thus we see the flaws in the english justice system. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thundaznutz (talkcontribs) 13:34, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
