sourcing is worse than deficient - it is malicious here
[edit]"Koç" is not found in the 2011 Ungor book on Armenian confiscation. It fails as a result. [1]
The 2011 Ashenden book page 77 specifies that Koç "had not played any part in the Welth tax" and makes no comment whatsoever that he profited from the confiscation.
Bugra page 82 makes no claim about Koc and the confiscation-- that page refers to his "business mentality" and not to "confiscation" at all. It fdoes not support the claim made.
Leaving Jones page 35 which makes no connection either -- it states that Koc "was one of a new generation of Islamic Turks who began to build businesses ." It dates his government contracts to the 1930s, and makes no claim that he profited from Armenian confiscations.
In short -- not a single one of the "sources" is valid for the claims ascribed to them. Collect (talk) 18:04, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- Will add more sources. Étienne Dolet (talk) 20:02, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- And they have to explicitly back the claims you wish to make -- the current ones simply fail, and any deliberate misuse of a source is a bannable offense on Wikipedia. Collect (talk) 20:05, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
Ref completely contradicts statements about source of Koc wealth
[edit]Ayse Bugra: State and Business in Modern Turkey. A Comparative Study. SUNY Press, 1994. p. 82
This has enormous information on Koc. Much of it should be included in the article. It completely contradicts the seizure of Armenian assets as the source of wealth. It talks about being in the right place at the right time (economically), the right political connections, hard work, jewish employees and partners, and other matters. Armenian and Greek confiscations don't seem to be included at all. Capitalismojo (talk) 14:10, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
