Pronunciation actually used[edit]

The pronunciation given in the article does not match the pronunciation used by agricultural chemical companies in their advertisements and by most farmers and agronomists in the United States. I'm no expert at IPA; it is something like 'koʊʃə with an "sh" sound rather than a second "k" sound (and if it is supposed to be pronounced like the second consonant in the German name Koch, isn't that something different from k in IPA?). Here is a video using the pronunciation I'm talking about
Kochia is discussed about 3:30 into the 8:06 minute video. I know this is the pronunciation I've heard in hundreds of commercials and other discussions on the TV and radio stations of the Great Plains of Canada and the United States, from various farmers, etc. It has completely taken over from any prior notions of the proper pronunciation of this widespread agricultural pest.
