use of chingada

I lifted this section from the Spanish wiki and translated it as best I could since I am not fluent in Spanish. But hopefully someone from Mexico or familiar with these expressions will come along some fine day and correct them for us poor English speakers. For now my bad Spanish will have to suffice, otherwise Dudanotak (talk) 18:36, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I removed a statement about racial origins, which was already flagged as questionable. It not only isn't true, it isn't in the spanish version of this article. Tarl N. (discuss) 09:38, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification

The term "chingada" comes from the verb "chingar" (in some countries it may mean to cut the tail of an animal), and it has several acceptations including: as calamitous, disastrous, or wretched; in this regard it would be comparable to "like shit" (it looks like.., I feel like..., etc.). Therefore it is written using lower case. La chingada is not a personification; it is not a myth or legend depicting a woman in folklore (as for instance "la Llorona").
