[edit]Is Larry Gerlach a historian? Could you please bring some more info to show that he seriously claims that Labove is Greek speaking? --sulmues talk contributions 17:58, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
According to his work he is, and quiet a good one.Alexikoua (talk) 20:12, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- See if you can bring a quote from that page, since the link just brings you to a summary. I'm really curious how he states that Labova is Greek speaking. It would be the equivalent of saying that the Russian aristocracy spoke French anyways. --sulmues talk contributions 21:13, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
The quote is: "After a humble beginning in a Greek village in Albania, Zappas had become one of the richest men in eastern Europe." [[1]]But I propose something different like: it was home to both Greek and Albanian families. Provided that you are convinced that Zappas &co were Greeks.Alexikoua (talk) 21:25, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Also the University of Utah makes the work a wp:rs guarantee.Alexikoua (talk) 21:26, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- University of Utah is a highly reputable publishing house, nothing dubious here. Athenean (talk) 21:37, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- -). I don't need someone from Utah to tell me what language is spoken in Labove and whether the village is Greek or Albanian in 2010, because I have been there myself only two years ago. Anyway Gerlach says that Zappas was born in "a Greek village in Albania" referring to early 19th century. Two centuries have passed from that time, so he is saying nothing as to what language is spoken in that village in 2010. In addition he might have consulted Greek sources, which makes him a tertiary source. Alexikoua, I was vilipended by a Greek editor at the Zappas article (see "are you so desperate you need to recruit a Greek patriot and hero in to your cause" in this version [2]), so I ain't starting that discussion here again. I strongly feel that Labove is 100% Albanian and I think you'll upset lots of people with Labove descent with this version. Mind you, it is a very patriotic village that has produced the Meksis who have been in Albanian governemnts for many years. You'll just produce an instable article, because you'll get reverted. I suggest we discuss a little more in Zappa's article, because I still disagree with it, but without the heated tones of before. Let's collaborate seriously in wording a NPOV article there, because you have done a good job so far, but improvement is needed. --sulmues talk contributions 21:55, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- I've change this part (is->was, since we are talking about Zappas), hope it looks better now. Alexikoua (talk) 06:17, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit]The specific quote refers to Labova e Kryqit (same quote used on ref. no 4 there [[3]]Alexikoua (talk) 20:33, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- There is only two Labovas, this another one.Resnjari (talk) 20:38, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hammond refers to one ... "Between Libohovë and the plateau the two hamlets of Labovë (115 houses)". This is obviously not the specific village but "Labova e Kryqit" which consist of two hamlets indeed.Alexikoua (talk) 20:41, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Look, Hammond refers to two Labovas that he visited. In Albania within that region there is only two Labovas and no new ones. No need for these semantic games.Resnjari (talk) 20:43, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Labovë e Kryqit (Labovë of the Cross) consists of two hamlets: Labovë e Poshtme (Lower Labovë) and Labovë e Sipërme (Upper Labovë). Both hamlets are located next to each other (near Libohove). see for example this one: [[4]]Alexikoua (talk) 20:49, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Nope, not two hamlets. I doubt you can read Albanian as i have asked you before about if you have any Albanian language skills in the past with no answer. What is says in the Labova e Kryqit article is: Labovë e Poshtme dhe Labovë e Sipërme (emërtimi i dy pjesëve të të njëjtit vendbanim). Translated it reads "Lower Labovë and Upper Labovë (names of two portions of the same settlement)."Resnjari (talk) 20:55, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Here is Labovë e Kryqit (consisting of two hamlets) [[5]]. e Madhe is located further north [[6]].Alexikoua (talk) 20:52, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Its not two hamlets. The state does not recognise this, nor do locals. The two neighbourhoods are spread out that make up one village. Please enough with the OR.Resnjari (talk) 20:56, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Quite weird you claim that googlemaps also spreads POV not to mention that you imagine that this village lies Between Libohovë and the plateau. Actually that's your personal OR. I understand that you are a foreigner to the region & unable to understand local geography but OR has its limits.Alexikoua (talk) 23:48, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yo, the article about Labova e Kryqit notes that its made up of two portions and they are not treated a separate settlements but make up one whole village. The rest of what you say is personal OR about foreigners etc.Resnjari (talk) 00:05, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
