I want to add that 9 species of plants found on the (cold, windswept and) stormbeaten summit of Humphrey's Peak of the San Francisco Mountains near Flagstaff in Arizona were brought back from Lady Franklin Bay by Lt. A.W. Greely, according to Dr. Clinton Hart Merriam in 1892 in his report for the U.S. Department of Agriculture I believe, entitled Life Zones and Crop Zones of the United States. This shows the dramatic cooling effect of altitude, that these two spots in the world have almost the same climate, or at least the same plant species. Clayton L. Owens 1610 East 13th Street Cheyenne, WY 82001 USA 3076375753 I had done my college research papers including this reference in 1986 and in 1989, but my papers were thrown out in 2002 by a very vicious person. If you need further information, I will be happy to help you. S2008June22
