Team History
[edit]I question if the history from the previous franchises (e.g., Utah and Denver Grizzlies) carry over to the Monsters. I would like to see citation if the actual records carry over, such as from a team media guide. If they do not, then I do not think the history of the previous franchises should be carried over to this page. Anyone have other opinions? —Preceding unsigned comment added by RonSigPi (talk • contribs) 05:44, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- Please feel free to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey. You may also want to go thru the archives at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey. This topic already reached a consensus there. Flibirigit 19:45, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

- OHHHH... sorry, I thought you were questioning the Utah connection. I didn't notice that table in the article. Yeah, that shouldn't be there. ccwaters 00:06, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Just to be clear -- The Monsters nor the AHL recognize any past history as the Utah Grizzlies. that history is attached to the ECHL Utah Grizzlies. This is a similar situation to the Browns/Ravens, where the NFL recognizes the Ravens as a 1996 expansion team, not a continuation of the Browns. Vjmlhds 14:28, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Players without pages
[edit]I am taking it upon myself to create pages (if possible) for any of the Monsters players without pages. After that I will attempt to move onto other teams. Weatherman05071 (talk) 21:44, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Make sure they meet WP:NHOCKEY prior to creating them. Some of the players will not. -DJSasso (talk) 14:09, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Records
[edit]Just a quick question, as far as records go do single game records (i.e. most goals in a game) or one such as most short handed goals in a season or for a person do they get recorded on the team page or not? An example would be Rissmiller scoring 4 goals in a game or Mike Carman with 5 short handed goals this season and in his career. Thanks Weatherman05071 (talk) 19:24, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Team history revisited
[edit]Vjmlhds: In edit summaries, you mention a record book that states the Monsters are a "expansion team", can you please point me to it? There is one working reliable source on this talk page that states they are as relocation. The other link obviously stated the same when it was up. Aso I provided the AHL press release stating the same http://theahl.com/ahl-s-spring-meeting-concludes-p135485 in a edit summary. There's also http://www.coloradoeagles.com/news.php?nid=1045 http://www.19actionnews.com/story/6213941/lake-erie-monsters-to-host-open-house-select-a-seat-event?clienttype=printable https://www.facebook.com/lakeeriemonsters/info (The monsters official facebook page). Also please provide a link to policy stating "Wikipedia policy is to honor the wishes of the teams and reflect their records and histories." that you mentioned on my talk page. I find that statement contrary to Wikipedia:Verifiability. TerminalPreppie (talk) 16:50, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
- Its been about a day, I will be changing it back soon unless I get a response. TerminalPreppie (talk) 15:55, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
Updated Logo
[edit]They have updated their logo, it now has the addition of the name Cleveland under the water trailing the head. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 153.2.246.32 (talk) 15:10, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
STO
[edit]There's no earthly reason why STO shouldn't be listed.
Yes the press release didn't mention it, but it also stated that only 5 games would be televised, and now the updated schedule shows 10 games will be on TV.
More than likely, the STO deal wasn't finalized yet at the time the press release was published.
Things change, things get added, and as long as I have references to back me up, there's no reason why any edits reflecting the updated info should be deleted.

- I don't see a reason to not include STO on the list of TV providers. The broadcast schedule for the remainder of the season shows games on STO, FSO, and WUAB, so that seems like a good enough source. Heck, if you go to www.lakeriemonsters.com right now, the upcoming schedule at the top has the STO logo. FSO is obviously the "main" TV home, but the reality is FSO and STO are sister networks, so not surprising to see games on both, especially with the Blue Jackets and Cavaliers on FSO but not STO. --JonRidinger (talk) 16:43, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
