Merger[edit]

Lancashire Record Office unambiguously duplicates the subject of this article and, being only a sentence long, if I'd come across it I would have WP:BOLDly converted it into a redirect. Considering the lack of discussion since the merger was proposed in June, I am tempted to go ahead with this action.

The (probable) WP:COI editor, Larchives should have edited the existing article, rather than create a new one. Unfortunately it is probably more expedient now to redirect the old article here. It was several sentences long and adequately sourced to secondary publications before Larchives deleted most of this and wrote the new article based entirely on archive material. The properly sourced info should be moved to the new article, if a merger goes ahead. Sionk (talk) 14:14, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Greater Manchester County Record Office &c[edit]

GMCRO was established in 1976. two years after the creation of the county of Greater Manchester. There is also a Merseyside Record Office, and a Cumbria Record Office in Barrow in Furness. It needs to be explained whether parts of the collections of the LRO were taken away when these new record offices were established.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 19:09, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
