There are several faculty members have published, and continue to publish, papers in a variety of fields. See, for instance, Dr. Ross Zucker's "Democratic Distributive Justice," Dr. Teich's analyses of car markets, or Dr. Danishevsky's research in subcloning of HFREP. Professor Levin-Waldman is an editor of "Contemporary public policy issues," and has published a number of books. I'm not going to continue listing things, but suffice it to say that whoever Geekish is, he doesn't know much about the school.

The trivia provides some history and perspective.

Stop editing without noting it on this page if you plan on removing "unsupported" details, especially if you don't know about the school. Davidmanheim 21:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know a lot about Lander or YU. Can someone please clarify the first sentence: "The Lander College for Men was created partially in response to dissatisfaction with the liberalization of Yeshiva University by some of YU's more right-wing religious members of the rabbinical faculty, including Rabbis Abba Bronspiegal and Yehuda Parnes." Are the two rabbis mentioned the ones who created Lander or are they the ones who liberalized YU? As written, it is a complicated sentence and can probably be diagrammed several ways. To alleviate the ambiguity, maybe it should be split into two sentences. "LC was created in response to ... . Among LC's founders were Rabbi A... " AdderUser 17:23, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This has been fixed - thanks for the critique. I will reiterate that the page should not have sections removed without discussion or mention on the talk page. I have reverted a number of changes made by DLand, who apparently does not read talk pages. Unless reasons are given, I will assume that there is no reason to remove the material, other than the removal of blogs as references. Davidmanheim 15:56, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your second "sentence" isn't a sentence. "The Lander College for Men was created partially in response to dissatisfaction with the alleged liberalization of Yeshiva University." (First sentence is OK.) "In response to this, some of YU's rabbinical faculty, including Rabbis Abba Bronspigel and Yehuda Parness." (This is not a sentence and needs to be fixed.)AdderUser 03:49, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're right - that was a careless mistake - I fixed it.--DLandTALK 13:07, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lander Torah Website

[edit]

Could someone please give more information on who manages the Lander Shiurim Online Website? The whois registration seems to be anonymous, and the site is in bad need of an update. The Yeshiva University Website is frequently updated and optimized, and the poor Lander College Torah Website needs to be somewhat competitive. I have content that can be added to enhance the site a great deal, and would love to help. Send your comments to my talk page, and I'll get back to you.
