Isn't Serbia also a landlocked developing country? 78.3.111.198 (talk) 20:53, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Serbia is landlocked, but it is not a landlocked developing country. I'm not sure exactly why, but it may be due to the Tiza and other navigable waterways. If you want to, you can email the UN branch responsible for LLDCs here. --Master Bob (talk) 03:43, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
By UN definition it is not.http://www.unohrlls.org/en/lldc/39/ Just as Singapore is a SIDS, despite being a very rich and advanced country.Phd8511 (talk) 13:25, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

merger

[edit]

shouldn't this article be made a subsection of landlocked countries? Two articles mainly consisting of lists of countries aren't really that great. What about research concerning the economic development ouf landlocked developing countries? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.73.107.224 (talk) 19:16, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why some are not LLDCs

[edit]

Kindly note that in order for a country to be considered an LDC, an assessment needs to be undertaken by the Committee for Development Policy. This assessment is based on a number of factors. So, in essence at this stage Southern Sudan is NOT an LDC until an assessment determines otherwise.

So DO NOT Change the list to your own whims and fancies.Phd8511 (talk) 13:10, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bosnia not included?

[edit]

Why bosnia is not a landlocked country despite seemingly landlocked? What is the antonym for landlocked country? 2404:8000:1027:2C72:2D91:F2FF:4381:40BE (talk) 13:38, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is not landlocked since it has a coast, and it is not a developing country. See the UN list https://www.itu.int/en/ITU-D/LDCs/Pages/ICT-Country-Profiles-of-the-Landlocked-Developing-Countries.aspx .Sjö (talk) 14:15, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
