Sir Wilfrid Lawson, 1st Baronet, of Brayton
[edit]No evidence so far that Sir Wilfrid Lawson, 1st Baronet, of Brayton is notable per either WP:GNG or any part of WP:BIO, so the article should be merged to this one, as has been done with other non-notable baronets, e.g. at Lauder baronets. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 15:01, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- Would he not have had to have been notable to have been created a baronet? Boleyn (talk) 14:54, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- Not necessarily. I don't think that Baronetcies were actually sold in that period (as they were later under Lloyd George, and had been at the start under James I), so the title is unlikely to have been simply purchased. However, a relatively minor title like a baronetcy could be awarded for all sorts of reasons related to political patronage, none of which may actually be notable.
- Anyway, that's all speculation, and notability needs evidence. Since there is no evidence so far of notability per either WP:GNG or any part of WP:BIO, I will now merge the article. If plausible evidence of notability is found, it can of course be unmerged. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 18:26, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
I wouldn't object to a merge then. Boleyn (talk) 18:31, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
