Goethe

[edit]

In Gespräche mit Goethe, Eckermann recounts that intellectual titan Goethe had high praise for Le Globe. "The contributors" said he "are men of the world, cheerful, clear in their views and bold to the last degree."..."I consider Le Globe one of our most interesting periodicals and could not do without it." -entry dated June 1, 1826 -Plasticbadge (talk) 04:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An exact reference to that (edition, page number) would be a great addition to the article, and would serve in moving it further. In a large article, it would become a minor detail in the paper's history, but any detail is good detail. So, please, if you can add such, don't hesitate. Founders

[edit]

According to the EB1911 vol 7, page 788, "in 1824, (Jean Philibert Damiron) joined Paul-François Dubois and Théodore Simon Jouffroy in establishing Le Globe." This does not agree with the current statement: "It was established by Pierre Leroux and the printer Alexandre Lachevardière." The French article fr:Le Globe states "Il fut fondé et dirigé par Pierre Leroux et Paul-François Dubois,"

Does anyone have a reliabile source on this topic? - DutchTreat (talk) 18:26, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
